E-Attendance Policy

1. Purpose

  • This E-Attendance Policy outlines the requirements and procedures for attendance in online and virtual training sessions at Critical Science Academy.
  • The purpose of this policy is to ensure:
    • Accurate tracking of attendance
    • Fair evaluation of participation
    • Compliance with course requirements and accreditation standards

2. Scope:

  • This policy applies to:
    • All trainees enrolled in online or live virtual courses
    • All sessions delivered through the Learning Management System (LMS) or virtual platforms

3. Attendance Requirements:

  • Participants must:
    • Attend training sessions using an appropriate device
    • Ensure a stable internet connection
    • Log in using their registered personal account
    • Join sessions through the approved platform
    • Participants are responsible for ensuring access to all required systems prior to the start of the session.

4. Minimum Attendance Requirement:

  • To be eligible for course completion and certification, participants must attend at least 90% of the total training hours.
  • Failure to meet the minimum attendance requirement may result in:
    • Ineligibility for certification
    • Requirement to repeat the course or attend additional sessions, where applicable

5. Punctuality:

  • Participants must join sessions on time according to the official schedule
  • A grace period of up to 10 minutes may be allowed
  • Late attendance beyond the allowed period may be recorded as partial or full absence at the Academy’s discretion

6. Attendance Tracking:

  • Attendance is monitored and recorded through the LMS or virtual platform, including:
    • Login and logout times
    • Duration of attendance
    • Participation and engagement (where applicable)
    • This data is used to determine course completion and certification eligibility.

7. Participation & Engagement:

  • Participants are expected to actively engage in sessions, which may include:
    • Responding to questions
    • Participating in discussions
    • Completing required activities

8. Technical Responsibility:

  • Participants are responsible for:
    • Ensuring a stable internet connection
    • Using a functional and compatible device
    • Resolving technical issues on their end
    • The Academy is not responsible for missed attendance due to participant-side technical issues.

9. Absence & Notification:

  • Participants who are unable to attend a session should notify the Academy in advance through official communication channels, where possible.
  • Absence may impact attendance records and certification eligibility.

10. Exceptional Circumstances:

  • Attendance exceptions may be considered in cases such as:
    • Medical emergencies
    • Verified technical failures attributable to the Academy
    • All cases are subject to review and approval at the Academy’s discretion.

11. Policy Updates:

  • Critical Science Academy reserves the right to update or modify this E-Attendance Policy at any time.
  • Any changes will become effective upon publication on the Academy’s website.

12. Policy Acceptance:

  • By enrolling in any online or virtual course, participants acknowledge and agree to comply with this E-Attendance Policy.
